How to Tie a TieA lot of guys don't know how to do more than one tie knot, so here are some different options for you. These video clips are really easy to follow and are in 1st person Point Of View. The Windsor KnotThe Windsor knot, compared to other methods, produces a wide triangular knot. Looks best for more formal occasions, and it is especially suited for a spread collar that can accommodate a larger knot, like the Windsor knot, properly. (Cited from Wikipedia) The Half-Windsor KnotThis produces a neat, triangular knot. It is larger than the four-in-hand knot and Pratt knot (below) but smaller than the Windsor knot. It works well with light and medium weight fabrics. (Cited from Wikipedia) The Four-in-hand KnotThis is the knot that most guys will know and have learnt first. It is also known as a simple knot or schoolboy knot, and is the most common method of tying ties due to its simplicity. The knot produced by this method is on the narrow side, slightly asymmetric, and appropriate for all occasions. (Cited from Wikipedia) The Pratt KnotThis knot uses less length than the Half Windsor or Windsor knots, and so is well suited to shorter ties. Unlike the Four-in-Hand knot, the Pratt method produces a symmetrical knot. It is of medium thickness. (Cited from Wikipedia) |
