Elusiv Quick Fire Top Ten
1. Do the clothes make a man?
No, but they show him off.
2. Should men accessorise more and what can they do?
My man accessorises better than I do. He has great hats, scarves, glasses and shoes. He doesn’t do jewellery but I must admit some men look gorgeous with a wee bit…my advice on accessorisation for either gender is to become a magpie and own an ever growing, ever changing collection so you always have what your outfit wants.
3. What item of clothing should men DEFINITELY have?
(ie; good pair of shoes, good cut jeans...etc) great pair of jeans.
4. Name a very well dressed celebrity that always gets it right.
I think John Campbell is elegant but I have only every really seen him on TV, don’t know if his range extends beyond the suit.
5. How can a man dress if he wants to look professional but still contemporary and funky?
Then it’s in the haircut, the detailing of the suit (flat front trousers or pleats? Single or DB? etc), the shoes, the twinkle in his eye.
6. What is your favourite international menswear label and why?
Kenzo, because it’s my man’s favourite and that’s good enough for me.
7. Should there be more menswear on the catwalk?
To be honest I don’t think our menswear in New Zealand is flamboyant nor varied enough to warrant more runway – but it’s a vicious circle because our designers are working in a small, conservative market.
8. Complete this sentence.... The kiwi male should dress beautifully
(beautifully can be a well-kept body and a pair of boardies, a wild shirt and sexy jeans, or a super-elegant suit and a whiff of divine aftershave).
9. Are you a fan of layering and do you have any tips?
Unless you are an expert, keep it simple.
10. Give us one word that comes into your head when you think of Elusiv Menswear.
